Times of Refreshing

I know in just my short life in ministry I can look back and see so many times when I needed to be refreshed. There were always so many things to think about, figure out, and or worry about.

For an example for many of you…
Who is going to work in the nursery this weekend?
Who is going to come to Church this weekend?
Who is going to pay their tithe this weekend?
How are we going to implement this new strategy?
How can we get new people to come?

As leaders trying to accomplish God’s plan and desire for us it can be such a daunting task at times but we CAN do it through what He has given us and who He has given us.

1. He has given us His Spirit Acts 3:19
Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.

We all need times of refreshing in His presence by His Spirit. Times when we are just allowing Him to wash over us as we wait in His presence with no other agenda in mind.

2. He has given us each other Ecclesiastes 4:12
Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

We all need relationships where we can be open, honest, and accountable to people we trust. Knowing that they are there to strengthen and protect us against things we may not even see in our lives.

Now, I know we all KNOW this stuff already but for some reason we can get away from them so easily.

Spending the time WE need in His presence to stay refreshed and spending the time WE need with others to stay strengthened to fulfill what God has called us to do.

So, I am encouraging you to not just remember these but to remember to practice them and give time to them.

I also want to encourage you to come to the Refresh Retreat in April. It will be a tremendous time together in His presence.
Kill two birds with one stone as they say.
